Q. What three albums are most inspiring to your band?
A: We draw from a wide variety of influences, but three albums that really stand out to us are:
Speaking In Tongues - The Talking Heads
Either/Or - Elliott Smith
This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About - Modest Mouse
Q. What was the first song that you wrote together?
A: If I remember correctly the first song that we all contributed heavily toward and collaborated on was “Clean Sheets” which is featured on our second album “II”.
Q. Can you explain the meaning behind one of the songs on your latest album?
A: “East Vs West”
It’s a song about being torn between a love for where you are and what have in, in contrast to a need to explore and escape your comfort zone. Lyrically it also talks about travel, suburban life, and a balance between coming to terms with the past while also letting parts of it go.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Asbury Park?
A: The people. There’s a very palpable feeling of camaraderie, especially within the music and art community. It makes it really easy to meet people and find new ways to inspire and challenge yourself. There’s always a fun opportunity if you know where to look.
Q. What is your favorite MOGO taco?
A: That’s a seriously difficult question, because they’re all excellent...but the last time we were there together I think we were all digging on the fish tacos.
