Q. What three albums are most inspiring to your band?
A: Wow where to start? There's 4 of us and we have to pick 3? (editor's note: this has caused much tension in the band)
Alkaline Trio - Good Mourning
Lucero - Nobody’s Darlings
Warren Zevon - Stand in the Fire
Also, probably anything Oasis put out before "Don't Believe the Truth"...yeah, definitely..maybe.
Q. What was the first song that you wrote together?
A: Honestly, I have no idea, but it would be off of the "This Time Around" EP. There was a revolving lineup for a while, but we've had the same group for the last 3+ years. It was either Long Lost or Dance Through the Night.
Q. Can you explain the meaning behind one of the songs on your latest album?
A: Well the last album was kind of an acoustic interpretation of some previous songs on different records, but "Handshakes & Pity" is mostly about disillusionment with a town you grow up in and the changes that come with time. It's about coming to grips with people and places that lose whatever it is that makes them special in the first place, and the feeling of futility that can follow.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Asbury Park?
A: The music scene is great and all, but can we talk about how cool it is to have so many venues across the street from the beach? You really don't see that anywhere else.
Q. What is your favorite MOGO taco?
A: Anyone who doesn't think the best taco is the Bulgogi is only kidding themselves.
