Q. What three albums are most inspiring to your band?
A: I listen to and love a lot of music so I could go on and on about this. I have many albums throughout time that have inspired me time and time again, such as Music from Big Pink by The Band, Continuum by John Mayer and A Crow Left Of The Murder by Incubus. Throw in a 4th with any Paul Simon album (self-titled, Still Crazy After All These Years, One Trick Pony...).
Q. What was the first song that you wrote together?
A: I am the primary songwriter and write all of the music for my band, although everyone brings their own flavor to the table of course! We just have a lot of fun truly playing music and jamming out.
Q. Can you explain the meaning behind one of the songs on your latest album?
A: "Understand" was the first single off my record, When It Happens To You, and the song is about our obsession to compare ourselves to one another. Whether it be professionally, personally, relationship wise, etc., we all do it. Yet when we come to realize this is pointless because we are all going through our own personal struggles, there is a sense of true letting go. Deep beyond the surface, we are all just human and there is unity in that. I have to remind myself of this everyday.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Asbury Park?
A: I love how accepting Asbury Park is, especially to all different kinds of original music and art. It is a very unique town with a lot of character and love, and I have found a home here amongst the many artists and personalities throughout town because of this. I am very grateful and have to say thank you so much to this community.
Q. What is your favorite MOGO taco?
A: The chicken! Love that citrus slaw!
