Jake Thistle
Jake, now 19, has been hired to perform in Europe and across the US, and for crowds of thousands at major music events. His first studio single, Ghosted Road, garnered the Best Americana Song Award from Indie Boulevard Magazine, and the Hollywood Sentinel had this to say about Thistle's follow-up single, The Dreamer: "JAKE has it all. The looks, the voice, the talent, and even a great song here...be prepared to be blown away."

Jake has been featured on CBS News, Variety, Billboard, American Songwriter Magazine, BBC Radio, The Record, WCBS FM, NYC's Q104.3 FM, Norman's Rare Guitars, All Guitar Network, and a wide range of other news outlets. And already in his young career, Jake has played with legends like Ron Blair and Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Jim Keltner (Traveling Wilburys, Bob Dylan), Earl Slick (David Bowie/John Lennon), Jon Herington (Steely Dan), Mark Whitfield (Sting), Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan), GE Smith, John Hiatt, Anton Fig (Warren Zevon), Severo (The Smithereens), Alex and Roy Orbison Jr, Willie Nile, many, many other greats. He has also shared bills with the likes of Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Eddie Vedder, Roger McGuinn, Steve Earle, Tom Morello, The Lumineers, Wilco, among other Hall Of Famers.

Along the way, Jake has personally raised hundreds of thousands for a variety of charitable organizations through an extensive range of fundraising performances, and has contributed music to events that raised millions. In addition, Jake was recently named an official artist for WhyHunger's Artists Against Hunger and Poverty, alongside legends like Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Brandi Carlisle and Carlos Santana. He was also honored with a special service award from the American Cancer Society for his significant contributions to the cause through his music.

Hooper
Hailing from Asbury Park, NJ Hooper's sound lies somewhere between country and rock, but doesn't sound totally like either one. The band was formed by 5 musicians who are also filmmakers, artists, surfers, and creatives who set out to do one thing: put on the best damn live show...every time they play.

Join us on the First Avenue Green Space this Wednesday night for Asbury Park LIVE, a free summer concert series to benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation.

MUSIC STARTS AT 7:00 PM

Sean Tobin & The Boardwalk Fire

Influenced by folk-singing troubadours and high-energy rockers alike, Sean Tobin and the Boardwalk Fire are a tireless, high-powered rock group that blow the roof off of every venue they play. From hard-hitting drum fills and ambient fiddle riffs, to crunchy guitars and booming bass-lines, the band invites any crowd in for a show that will make them forget about life for a while.

Jackson Pines

“[A] duo from Jersey — Jackson, to be specific, nestled in the pine barrens — core members Joe Makoviecki (vocals, guitar) and James Black (bass) teamed up with some heavy-hitting friends for their debut LP Purgatory Road, which came out on February 8th. Simone Felice produced the record in his Sugar Mountain Studio in Palenville, NY and played drums; James Felice
contributed piano and organ throughout the set as well. As such, the record is an expert set of indie folk, drawing on the melodies and arrangements of bluegrass and mountain music but incorporating it tastefully into Makoviecki’s songs, which are very much of the now.” - John Vettese, WXPN, The Key
"...like a mash-up of James Taylor and Tom Petty -- with serious focus on acoustic guitar [...] Jackson Pines already have a collection of music that presents a unique lyrical take on life, bringing a rustic flair to the world of indie-folk/acoustic music [...] they've only just begun." - Billboard magazine

Singer-songwriting filtered through a horn band with the energy of a traveling circus.

Alexis Keegan

The deep R&B grooves emerging in Alexis Keegan’s latest soulful tracks have their roots in the multi-talented singer/songwriter’s teen years growing up in Maplewood, New Jersey. At age 12, her father’s cancer diagnosis inspired her to create a recording of Mariah Carey’s “Butterfly” in tribute. During this challenging period, she vowed to use her vocal skills as a way to help others get through their everyday struggles. During her early years at Columbia High School–alma mater of R&B great Lauryn Hill–Alexis had an opportunity to showcase and develop her vocal power when she became the only white singer in the school’s MLK Gospel Choir. Despite never having sung in an ensemble before, she was chosen as their lead vocalist. Her early development as an artist included work with Robert “Kool” Bell from Kool & The Gang, his wife Sakina Bell, and their son on various musical projects. Later, while studying mass communications at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Alexis would take off on Thursday and head up to New York City to do some recording with Jay-Z’s nephew’s crew, NBH, then hightail it back for her class late Friday afternoon. As a live performer, she has toured and opened for Ron Pope, Howie Day, Lee DeWyze, Kate Voegele, Tyler Hilton and O-Town, as well as appearing at numerous American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” events in memory of her father. Her still-developing career as an indie artist already includes two popular EPs (Clean Slate and Endless Road), a #1 most added track by an independent artist at indie radio (“Worry No More”), a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination, and multiple LA Examiner Music Critic Awards.
