The Extensions: Hooks sweeter than grape soda; lyrics as sharp as a boxcutter
Q. What three albums are most inspiring to your band?
Everyone's influences vary really wildly. Becca has been on a real Monkees kick, of late. Will loves 'Thriller.' Lisa's really into Incubus, and Brian and Pete often prefer simply to snuggle without any music on. Only one time did we mention an actual album title. Your move, MOGO!
Q. What was the first song that you wrote together?
Brian and Pete wrote "Hollowed Out" together before the band was even fully-formed. But everyone else liked it so much that it ended up being Track One on our first release!
Q. Can you explain the meaning behind one of the songs on your latest album?
There's a song toward the end of our new record called "Seeing Ghosts" that's about when someone you really care about is going through a hard time and you really want to help them but you just can't. It's not possible. So you just kinda hang out and hope they find their way. And if they do, you be sure to meet them at the other end with whatever they need.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Asbury Park?
Local Summer beach days, Jim "Scene Dad" Lenskold, and probably The Foes of Fern. We couldn't pick just one.
Q. What is your favorite MOGO taco?
Lisa's coming in with the shrimpies this year! Last year, Brian hijacked this answer with the tofu which remains his favorite. But also let someone else answer, dude!
Q: Where else are you playing this summer and when?
We're not. We're retiring. That's not true. Follow us on instagram @theextensionsband for all our show updates and announcements!
